Where I've Been...

Virginia Beach

Yes, there were water skiers, pulled by Jet skis. Even with wet suits and the air temp in the 60's, I'm sure it was cold when they fell into the water!

The sun, just breaking the horizon...

One minute later than the photo above.

We went to Virginia Beach last Thursday and came back home
Sunday. I always hate leaving the beach. Three or four days in a hotel with free breakfast and the rest of our meals in good restaurants is my idea of heaven, although I'd weigh 500 lbs. in short order! We attended a conference on ancient Egyptian symbolism. I bet you're dying to do that too......LOL  I have always wanted to know how to read heiroglyphics, and this conference taught us a little bit about that. I realize now that I ought to have studied archeology, with a specialty in Egyptian antiquities.  "Ve get too soon oldt and too late shmart", as the old saying goes. Maybe in my next life I'll be smart enough to do that!

Dear Judy--I hereby bequeth all of the beaches to you (and any others who enjoy them). It's great that you so enjoy them!
Thanks for posting the beautiful photos. Beaches are pretty even if I don't really want to visit them.
(I lived just 1 mile from water in Florida 1981-1983; but, only went to the beach when I had out-of-town guests.)

I would live both the beach and the conference. I visited Egypt in 1976 and would love to go back.

Hey - it's never to late to learn. I didn't even finish college until 2004 and I think I was actually a better student because it was later in life. So many students think of college as a means to an end - one young man was telling me he couldn't wait to get out of school so he could get out in the world and work fulltime. lol. I told him that I would be happy if I could just go to school all the time for the rest of my life.

Lucky, lucky you,Judy.Virginia Beach is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

Taking our kids to the beach there for a day of Sun and Fun was one of the things we missed most when we left Hampton.

I loved Virginia Beach, and the kids adored the place. We were thinking of going back there again this year. We stayed in apartments over looking the beach and the view was breath taking!

How nice to go to the beach when it is mostly all yours.
Funny how our life's ambitions come to us late. I just recently decided I should have become a meteorologist. Who knew.

I am jealous of that blue sky, I had forgotten what blue looks like. We are forecast 0°C overnight and tomorrow, but warned it will feel like -5°C Brrrr!
