GOOD Advice! (and some that's better)

Eat right! Make sure you get your daily dose of fruits and veggies.
Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin C.
Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system.
Walk for at least an hour a day, go for a swim, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.
Wash your hands often. If you can't wash them, keep a bottle of antibacterial stuff around.
Get lots of fresh air. Open windows whenever possible.
Get plenty of rest.
Try to eliminate as much stress from your life as you can.

OR:
Take the doctor's office approach. Think about it... When you go for a shot, what do they do first? Clean your arm with alcohol..
Why? Because alcohol kills germs.
So.......I walk to the liquor store. (exercise )
I put lime in my Corona...(fruit)
Celery in my Bloody Mary? (veggies)
Drink outdoors on the bar patio..(fresh air)
Tell jokes, laugh..(eliminate stress)
Then pass out. (rest)

The way I see it...
If you keep your alcohol levels up, flu germs can't get you!

(You do know I'm joking, don't you?)

I like that approach. I've never been much of a drinker, though. I need to build my tolerance a bit more before I can tuck in and stay healthy!

The journalist learns to drink. Sigh.

This must have been the theme used by the 23 year old who would become my first autopsy in residency. He died of acute liver failure due to alcohol...his friends even brought it to him in the hospital, nurses checked his room every day. He did not listen to reason and literally "drank himself to death". His liver weighed five times what a normal one should. Yep alcohol kills in more ways than one.

Michele sent me your way, early this Sunday morning, Judy.

This actually strikes me as a good idea. I've been drinking Pepsi tonight but I might switch to a few Smirnoffs before I go to bed as a tribute to your post, Judy. I've been playing with Photoshop and the beer might help. I've been quite uninspired this evening.

I want a glass of wine in the worst way. I still have 4 months of gestating to complete. So I won't have it anytime soon.

Don't worry, I knew you were joking and everyone else does too. It is quite funny in a way. Studies do show that a bit of wine is supposed to help digestion. I think that young man just couldn't stop and his body couldn't take it anymore. I personally don't drink for many reasons; one being that alcohol gives me the burning knife sensation of NyQuil going down. Oh, yes, NyQuil is 25% alcohol so that might be the reason.

Hmmm I'll make sure I squeeze that lime into my margarita next time

Have a great weekend :)

Oh, wait. Yes it is.

I like that approach. I'm a big fan of the afternoon cocktail hour, although at this time of year it's generally a glass of red. Good for my heart and my digestion!

Haha! Maybe it's time I test the limits of my alcohol consumption again. :)

:( I guess I'm stuck with the first bit. Alcohol doesn't fare well in my body... it comes out all over my face and chest in the form of blotches and it shuts down my sinuses within moments.
(except Irish Creme... but egad, I'd have to drink a whole lot of that stuff to get any 'rest')

Cute post, Judy.

It makes perfect sense though! ;-)
