Post Mother's Day

And a good time was had by all - at least here in my neck of the woods.

We gathered at my younger daughter and son-in-law's home and ate pizza, which I had requested. There was salad too, and while it is normally consumed in mass quantities when we are all together, this time we went straight for the pizza and left the salad alone. Daughter had intended to get the pizza from a local shop we like, only to discover they were no longer in business at that location. She bought it from a shop that is across a courtyard from our favorite Mexican place, and now we have another favorite in that shopping center. Amante pizza is darn good stuff!!

Son-in-law, who loves to make desserts, baked his favorite bread pudding and a blueberry cobbler. Suffice it to say there was none left of either!

The weather was warm and sunny, and the screened porch saw lots of action as some of us lounged on cushions and talked the afternoon away. Three of our grandchildren were there  (one had to work and the others were with their mom's family), but all three of my children were there and I really enjoyed talking with everyone.

Fairly often when we all get together, we cook lots of food - everyone brings something - and while the meals are always good - it is nice sometimes to bring pizza in and not have the hassle of cooking and cleaning that a big meal entails. I'm voting for pizza every Mother's Day from now on.

Here's hoping that YOU had a great Mother's Day as well!

YEA PIZZA!! What a perfect idea for Mother's Day. I read another one this morning. The mom goes to McDonald's every year for Mother's Day breakfast. It's the only place they don't have to stand in line for two hours.

My Mom preferred KFC. Since I was usually the one without children, I made the annual run to the nearest Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I still love KFC. I miss my mom.
