While Going to Work Today....

I headed toward a restaurant drive-through so I could eat on the way to work, when my plans were altered suddenly. A line of 4-5 cars ahead of me all suddenly stopped on a dime. Luckily, I was far enough behind them that I was able to brake and miss the car in front of me. Unfortunately, the woman behind me was not so lucky. As I was congratulating myself on not hitting anyone - I got hit. "Oh, sh**", I said, exiting the car. She was very apologetic as she offered me her insurance card. As luck would have it, I looked up and saw a police car pulling in behind her. He just happened to be driving down that road - which was a stroke of luck for us and saved time. He wrote up a police report and we went on our not so merry way.

The photo shows my bumper; the part that was covered by the tailgate. At first, I thought the only damage was some paint knocked off the bumper, but when I opened the tailgate, I saw that the bumper was cracked all across the width of the car. I will need a new bumper, and Lord knows what else. I just pray that there was no damage to the axle.

It's always something, isn't it?

Edit:   I still have a headache, and neck muscle pains. I'm going to the doc Monday morning.

I think the third day must be the worst - at least I hope it isn't any worse tomorrow.  :-/

Ain't it the truth. ALWAYS and ALWAYS, it is something!! I hope it didn't effect your axle, too, my dear....

I hope it didn't affect you! How's your neck feel this morning?

I hope you got checked out at the hospital. No harm to have it on your record in case there are problems down the line.

Cars can be repaired. YOU are more important!

Hope you have no after effects. You will be amazed at how much the repair will cost. Good thing it will be covered.

So when you say "not so merry way" does that mean you and the at-fault person had words?

Oh Judy, I hope you get better soon, and your car can be repaired.

And I also hope that Mr. Kenju first asked how you were and only then asked about the car! A lot of husbands, I think, reverse those questions!

It's all the palaver isn't it - quite apart from your injury.
Into every life a little rain must fall they say!
Hope you are out of discomfort soon.

Don't you wish you could start the day over? So sorry and I hope you are OK ... the car can be fixed but it's a mess, no matter how you look at it.
