He Asked and She Said Yes, Part 2

My younger daughter has been very self-sufficient for years. She put herself through law school, moved north to the big, big city (2 of them actually) and lived alone for so long we thought she might never want to share her life with another.

About a year ago, she met and began dating a guy her age. She was coy about it with us, and we didn't learn of his existence until they had known each other for many months. When we met him, we thought he was a nice guy. He is smart, quick and has a sly, dry sense of humor - which I can tell you - stands you in good stead in our family.

At Easter, he joined us for the family dinner, and met our son and his family, who had good opinions of him, as we did. Our older daughter had to work that day and she remains the only one who hasn't met the new guy.

He asked mr. kenju that day if we minded him spending so much time with our  baby, and we both answered that we liked him, and if he made our daughter happy, we were fine with it. He replied..."That's good, because I plan to be around for a long, long time."

A week or so ago, they flew to California to visit her old friend. While riding bicycles on the Santa Monica pier, he popped the question - and gave her this gorgeous ring!!

I think he did a great job in choosing it, don't you?

The wedding is being planned for September (assuming all the ducks fall into line) and I will once again be the Mother of the Bride. How proud I am!!

How wonderful and it just proves that it pays to wait and not to settle. He certainly has great taste in rings and a future wife. That and a sense of humor makes him practically perfect. Congrats to all.

Dear Judy,

How wonderful for you and your whole family...And especially your daughter who knew exactly what she needed to make her happy and was smart enough to wait until the REAL thing came along.

The ring is gorgeous and says a lot about her choice in husbands.

Congratulations to you,Mr Kenju, and ,of course, the future Bride and Groom...
