Strike!

The last time I went bowling was sometime during my kid's childhood, and since the 'baby' of the three is now 40, it was quite a while ago. The first time I ever bowled, when I was 15, I got 7 strikes. It was purely beginner's luck that time and I don't think I got another strike for many months afterward. 

This morning, five of my neighbors and I met at a newish place here in Raleigh, named Sparians. It is an upscale bowling alley, with comfortable  couches (instead of hard, straight-back chairs) and very good food service. The scores ranged from 40 to 124....and I don't want to tell you which was mine....lol. I can assure you I bowled NO strikes, and only one spare. 

We had fun, though, and our lunch afterward was tasty and we were not rushed in any way. It may have helped that we were the only group in the alley today, although there were people coming in for lunch only. I had never been in a bowling alley before that was known to have food good enough to make it a destination for that alone - but apparently this one is. If you are in this area, you may want to try it. It was fun.
