Witchy Poo rides her broom through my woods (she's stuck to the glass of my storm door)

For me, there is work today, a neighborhood pot-luck picnic tomorrow, the Flower Shuttle and a birthday luncheon on Tuesday. Our chimney restoration is on hold at the moment; the brick mason's  father is in Hospice, and mr. kenju told him to take off to be with his dad until the end. The guy who will repair the deck is coming Monday - and since he is one of my favorite people (and a very lazy blogger) I am looking forward to seeing him.

He and his lovely better half are due here for dinner soon, but with all the work I've been doing and all the repairs to the house, there hasn't been time. It won't be long now.....I hope.

The rest of the repairs will get done sometime, I guess. *sigh* (They will, won't they??!!)

This is the worst time of the year for me to gain weight; I am trying to avoid that, and attempting to steel myself against temptation. "How's that workin' for ya'", you ask?  "Not much at all", I sigh. There is Halloween candy (which I am not buying) and birthday cake ( which I always eat, along with sumptuous feasts), then Thanksgiving and Christmas?  How's a girl gonna stay the same? Most of my clothing is too small now - so I don't dare gain a pound. I can't afford to buy new clothing and when I try, I can't find anything I like.  I do know how to cure that problem:  walking. I think about it daily.....how nice it would be to walk the neighborhood as the leaves are changing and the crisp weather is bracing. Then I think about how nice it is at home with a good book or my computer - and the idea of a walk goes out the window. I'm hopeless!

You sound so busy that you have no time to put on weight. When I was small my granny used to tell us to "Sit down to eat (insert food type)or it will go straight to your toes!". LOL I wonder if it would work?

Now I am off to find my witch and hang her by the window.

LOVE your Witchy Poo...She is quite wonderful...!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend Judy and a Great beginning of next week....It sounds like you have a full plate! (Funny to use that phrase when I know you want to lose weight...lol)...

Was it a bad thing for Mr. Kenju to give the builder time off to be with his dying father? Just sayin...

This time of year I just wait for the weight. It visits on it's own and stays and stays through Christmas. There is no fighting it off so you might as well embrace it. Maybe this year will be different. I think I say that every year.

Hoo Boy, can I ever commiserate with you on holidays and weight gain. I, too, can't afford a new wardrobe and I get into my nightgown as soon as I dare because it's the one garment that is still comfortable. What's to do?

I too am hopeless. Plenty of time to sit around, never enough time to take a 30-minute walk.

No wonder I don't have a 27-inch waist anymore. Or a 30-inch one...

Witchy Poo is great...looks great in that setting. Let's not even talk about weight gain around the holidays. I'm still toting around the weight I gained from last year's holidays...geesh. ~Joy

This is a very precarious time of year for those of us who seem to perpetually be aware that we should eat less. Sure is for me.
