Back to Brio for My Birthday!

I seem to mention Brio a lot here....and there is good reason for that! I love their food; I have never had a bad meal there, and every time I go - it seems to get better. The service is great too.

A good friend with whom I celebrate birthdays (hers and mine) every year, took me there today for lunch. I didn't tell her that we had been there recently to celebrate my daughter's birthday - but it wouldn't have mattered if I had gone just yesterday - I'd still want to go back.

Determined not to eat too much, I ordered the soup and salad special; lobster bisque so creamy as to be sinful and chock full of lobster bits, and their excellent, crispy Caesar salad. Served with their signature breads and crackers, it is a meal!

My dessert was free, since we were celebrating my birthday, and I had the same chocolate caramel cake and mousse that I had last time. My friend had the carrot cake with cream cheese icing, which she declared was delicious.

After two hours of food and conversation, we left, surfeit (until dinner time, anyway) having thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. My birthdays seem to be celebrated all month long (which doesn't bother me in the least....lol). On Sunday, all of our children and grandchildren will gather at my younger daughter's home and I couldn't be happier - as it is a gift to see them all together. I'm looking forward to it!

Happy Birthday Judy. Was "Brio" the place where we went for lunch the day we went to the Art museum? I can't remember but the food was superb!!

I tried leaving a comment earlier and it wouldn't take it, so I'm trying again. Since FB changed, I don't see birthday people anymore. Happy birthday, Judy. Glad you enjoyed your lunch.

Judy--Happy birthday! As I have never heard of "Brio" (as a restaurant!) you may safely assume there is none in my area; but, I do love a good, creamy bisque. Unfortunately, it is creamy because of the overload of heavy cream that it contains. (Hear my arteries clogging?) Glad that your cholesterol will let you enjoy those soups!

You'll know you've been to Brio too often when you walk in the door and everyone yells "Judy!" like they did for Norm at Cheers. LOL

Happy Birthday to you. Keep on squeezing as many celebrations out of it as you can. You deserve them all.
