CIRQUE!

I sort of feel like that guy at the top tonight. We started working at the Governor's Mansion this morning and I was on my feet from 8am to 6pm (again). I tripped on a drop-cloth today and my back feels like it could have been in that position for a while......lol

Do you remember when I told you about the Jim Valvano Gala fund-raiser last August? Cirque du Soleil members were the featured performers. I thought you might like to see a few photos. (I didn't take these pics; I found them on the Jimmy Vee web-site.)

Those two guys in the gold lame bikinis were awe-inspiring. Every movement they made was done in slow-motion, which I am sure makes it even harder to do. Can you imagine being in a split like that and being able to come back upright without jerking your body?

The bottom photo is most of the cast after the show. Their costumes were so very colorful and exquisitely detailed! I sure hope I get to see one of their full shows someday.

Wow. I couldn't handle seeing something like that. I would be wiggling in discomfort - on their behalf!

You see talent; I see "OUCH!"

I love Cirque du Soleil shows. I've seen three and can't wait to see more!

The company I used to work for had this conference in Las Vegas. I didn't want to go as it seemed a waste of time and money, but had gotten out of another one so essentially was "told" to go. They paid for our group to see "O" at the Bellagio. It was spectacular, but (and I may be a bit biased here) Phantom of the Opera was better.

That group of performers is Astounding!
Hope you don't exhaust yourself too much Judy...and take care of your back, my dear.

I was fortunate enough to see the Cirque
du Soleil on tour in Brisbane during my holidays. I have seen two of their shows now. The twins in the Gold I believe are two English boys. They are all so fascinating and so very entertaining, I could watch their performance for ever. Cheers Margaret

Those photos are something. I've never seen a Cirque performance.

Love your photos of your arrangements below. You sound like a very busy lady.

Wow. Amazing pictures. I've always wanted to see a Cirque show. In fact, they are the only kind of circus I approve of (no animals).

I loved it when Hoss and I went to see Cirque in Las Vegas- we saw "O" and it was out of this world. The problem with the gold lame bikini- it's hard to, well, shift your focus when it's just a photo. But GREAT photos, Judy! Rest your back.

those guys in the gold lame bikinis remind me of Rocky from the rocky horror picture show. :)

We recently had Cirque de Soleil here in Bristol...wish I'd gone to see it now!

I saw one of their first shows, Mystere, just as the Cirque was beginning to establish itself as an international act. They set up a tent in Montreal's Old Port, and I went with my then-girlfriend (later my wife).

It was a magical night. We still talk about it today, and the troupe's music (amazing CDs if you can find 'em) continues to fill our home.

We'd go again in a heartbeat.

Wow, that looks pretty amazing...it does have an element of "ouch" to it tough...I think I need to go for a run now...

All those cirque people are just freaks of nature. :> Yeah, that's it.

But still, to watch them is to be completely enraptured.

Thanks for the jokes and for the Cirque de Soleil performers. I have only seen them in performance three times, but every time I've been blown away. I don't have much inspiration to write either, but I'm working on it when I'm not blogwalking.

They're now in Orlando, which is about a 2 hour drive from me. I'm hoping to see them someday also.

I like the first guy's tights or are they tattoo! One of these days I want to see their show! The golden guys look like twins. It must have been fun for you!

I've seen them live a few times and they are always incredible.
