Show-mance or Faux-mance?

If you are not a regular watcher of Big Brother, then move right along, as this post will hold no interest for you.

What in the deep-fried devil is wrong with Janelle and Erika? I thought they were both reasonably intelligent women, but since romance - or "ho-mance" (as they call it) - has entered the scene, their brains have been rendered useless.. Or maybe their brains have just dropped down into their large and obvious implants.

Will - otherwise known as Dr. Delicious (for obvious reasons) and Mike - known as Boogie - have snowed those two women so badly that when they learn how they have been played - all hell will break loose! The guys have joined together to dazzle the women with compliments and sweet nothings, and much to my dismay, they are all too successful. Dr. Will even told Janelle early on in the season that he would never date her after the show, and now, after his ministrations and attention, she is acting as if he never said anything bad to her. She is coy sometimes, and privately admits that she knows she cannot trust the other three, but it doesn't stop her from flirting and doing exactly as he tells her to do.

Erika sems to think that because she and Mike have dated a little (after their first brush with BB) that he is loyal to her and won't sell her out or evict her. How wrong she is. Mike is loyal to no one but Will - or so he says. He did admit in the Diary Room last night that he is going to hell for what he is doing to Erika. Now she thinks they might have a baby together, and he is plotting her quick demise on the show. I shudder to think what will happen when she finds out that he is lying to her and that he had no intention of taking her to the final two.

Of course, if she wins POV, then the game is anyone's guess. I'm hoping that she does win it. I am also hoping that she will realize that Mike is a liar and the other two are as well. Then she can put his butt up for nomination!

But the most I am hoping for is that young women everywhere will watch and learn from this and not let themselves be taken advantage of and manipulated by slick, handsome devils (Will) and dream-spinners (Boogie). And I hope that the jury will take their actions into account and not reward them for it.

Love makes you so blind. It must be particularly embarrassing to have a reminder once you're done - celluloid lasts forever.

You got that right in the first sentence Judy.

I'm wondering if Erika is playing the game smarter than we are being shown...every now and then she will make a comment about the possiblity of Boogie not taking her to the final two..I am with you though...I have made the same comments while watching Sunday's show...they should have voted Will off way in the beginning when they had the chance...but man he is a great player!!! I like that analogy of Boogie being a dream-spinner...

I've never watched the show, but I've seen some of what you are talking about (somehow....channel surfing?).

Maybe, as you suggest, some good will come of this in that young girls may see this and learn a lesson.

I love this line: What in the deep-fried devil is wrong... Wonderful!

I understand this show even less than the others. I think I managed to make it through fifteen minutes of it once before gagging and having to run screaming from the room. Fortunately, my dad is a remote control surfer, so it doesn't stay on that long when he is in charge.

So glad to catch up on your posts, Kenju. Re Big Brother, I haven't ever watched the current show but my granddaughter Sarah was well-acquainted with the winner of the very first Big Brother (Eddie, a one-legged wheelchair athlete) and she still is a fan. She says the show now is so much more sophisticated. I asked her: "Is that a good thing?" She just shrugged her shoulders but there's no doubt we all get a kick out of being voyuers! I'm going to tune in.

I was fascinated with the "reality" shows at first, even The Donald, but realized that it was "showbiz" and all so scripted and coreographed that there was no real involvement for me. One of my good friends would not let me criticize the shows because she said, "You are talking about my best friends. I know them that well from watchiung their most intimate actions and thoughts every week." Ya think so?

I am so glad you admit to watching this. I have been saying from DAY ONE that everyone is completely insane...and that Wil and Boogie will win this thing. There oughta be a psychologist in there with these people...it is sooooo bizarre.
