Around the World in Six Months

About 6-7 months ago, I told you about two relatives of Mr. kenju who were taking an extended trip around the world. They wrote a travel blog and I saved some of the photos from it. I was given permission to post the photos by his father - so let's hope it will be okay. Unfortunately, I didn't write down where all of them were taken, so you may have to tell me where they are - or where you think they are. Obviously, the top two are in Egypt. My bubble was burst when I saw that there is a Pizza Hut across the street from the Pyramids. That doesn't seem right, does it? One of the Seven Wonders of the World ought not to be in such close proximity to a pizza place, right?
We all know where that lower one is too, of course, and it is where I will be in October, if all goes as planned. I have always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower - but I'd love to be seeing the Pyramids too.
I don't know where the next one was taken, nor the one after that. But I think it is in Cambodia or Viet Nam.

Iguazu Falls in Brazil, which Sonia, at http://leavesgrass.blogspot.com, at can tell us all about, I hope. My daughter-in-law has been to Iguazu too. She went back to Brazil about 3 years ago, to visit the family with whom she lived when she was an exchange student, and saw the falls while there.
The Sydney Opera House in Australia, another landmark I hope to see before I leave the earth. Peter, of http://holtieshouse.blogspot.com might tell us a little about Sydney as well.

The one above was taken in Laos, but I don't know the significance of the building. The one below is titled "Aya Sophia", but I didn't write down the place name. Shame on me.

Riu Resort in the Bahamas, where they ended the trip, and met up with a crew of family members, who couldn't wait to see them after so long a time away. And one last photo of the Pyramids, which I couldn't get to post any larger than this. It has been my life's ambition to climb the largest one, but at this age, I'll consider myself lucky if I get to see them.

When you get to go to all these places, I'm sure you'll take lots and lots of pictures. I hope to travel again someday soon. I like to go to a place and stay a couple of weeks with little side trips. We did that in Linz, Austria and in Florence. I'd like to see my brother's apartment in Vienna and spend more time there. Perhaps....

That waterfall in Brazil is something I'd sure like to see--and the pyramids (even if there is a Pizza Hut--that is just plain wrong), and Jerusalem--probably not so smart now. I bet there's a McDonalds by each holy site. Great photos. We'll see if this will send tonight.

What on earth is this world coming to? A Pizza Hut near the Pyramids? Great photos. There's nothing like travel to expand one's horizons.
Wasn't aware you're going to Paris next month. Enjoy! 6 more months till I get to return there...my favorite place in the world.

I would like to begin and end a trip on that beautiful beach right about now, Judy. I stopped coming by when you were having such a fine time in the Big Apple and I was startling with every siren and alley noise here in the Windy City. But I'm back and catching up. Tuesday is HOUSE night, not Big Brother, silly. And yes, about Steve Irwin. He brought the wonders of the animal kingdom into the awareness of so many. Too sad.

What a wonderful thing to be able to do!
I never wanted to travel until recently. My oldest daughter has already been throughout Europe and across America twice. Her discoveries are what made me realize all I was missing. I, too, hope to someday get to see all of those places! I'm anxious to see your photos from Paris!

Judy - as an aside to the "pizza hut across the street from the pyramids," there is a starbuck's right next door to the gate to Canterbury Cathedral. I could not believe my eyes when I saw that....

One of the unidentified photos looks like Petra to me, Judy. Amazing place and featured in the third Indiana Jones movie.

Wow, that must have been some trip. And I agree that the Pizza Hut is kind of a bummer. I haven't done much world traveling, but I'd sure like to get back to Italy and get to Paris.

Michele sent me here today, Judy and I'm very glad!

A Pizza Hut across from the Pyramids?? How could they?? If I were standing in front of the Pyramids and got hungry, I darn sure wouldn't want a dried out slice of cardboard pizza from Pizza Hut. Commerce! I guess nothing is sacred anymore. *sigh*

Great photos though, thanks for sharing them :)

How very exciting!!!

How wonderful that they got to go to so many fabulous and exotic places.
The great pyramids & Pizza Hut?? I agree. They just don't belong near one another.

Yes, second to the last photo is Petra. :)

Wow, great photos. I have a friend who runs a tour company to Egypt, India, Peru and parts of Europe. So far, I've only been to England and Italy. I really want to see Paris, too! You'll have a wonderful time!
