I Love New York - Part 4

Anyone who has been to NYC knows that there are people all over the city giving out handbills. Mixed in with a few miscellaneous photos, is one that I got this week, hawking the services of "Gia", who can guide me to my true love as well as the right path in life. Oh, Gia, where have you been? Why did I have to learn about you in the autumn of my life, instead of the spring? I am sure you could have set me straight - and God knows I needed it!

Top left photo: Times Square

Top right: a boat at the dock in South Street Seaport.

Bottom: The view to the World Trade Center site (2 blocks away) from the roof of the apartment building. I took the same photo in May of 2005, and if I can find it, I will post them side by side, so you can compare the progress. The construction site is dead center.

Addendum: I forgot to mention this. See the black building on the far left? It was damaged in the attack on 9/11, and is unusable. They are removing it, floor by floor. It is completely covered in a mesh screen, so nothing will fall on passersby below.

Wow! I'm first! We must be online at the same time.
I've never been to NYC so I am really enjoying these photos and the stories.
Always wanted to take in a Broadway play and also see the WTC site as well.

And I think alot of people wish they had met Gia in the spring of their lives!! A whole lot! ;)

I'm so envious of your trip, but thank you for taking us along with these posts! I love NYC. Have only been there once, and it was positively magical.

That last picture is pretty amazing...! It is a real reminder of what was lost...in a very small way, I mean...Of course it cannot really cover the magnitude of the loss, but...it comes pretty close to that just because there is nothing there anymore!

I wish I had run into Gia, too! (lol). You think it's too late for me to give her a call? I wonder if she does long distance readings...! (lol)

looks like you had a pretty good time in NYC. If you have any cash left over, you might take your granddaughter to the American Girl place in Chicago. I just hope I'm still solvent when my daughter finally grows out of AG dolls!

Is that the apartment where your daughter lived? I figured she wasn't in NY in 2001. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to be THAT close to the towers that day, with all the uncertainty and confusion. We went to the site and even though there is nothing but the large hole there now, it was still moving, sad, enlightening and tragic all at the same time.

I love Times Square...
I once ran into someone I knew there, while on vacation. Which if you think of it, is pretty amazing. Esp. when the theatres let out at night and there are 35,000 people rushing TS to get to their hotels. :)

I love your photos. :) More!

I love to get to New York. A friend of mine who works there tells me on how busy yet lively the city is. Finally, the super hunky males she sees all the time.

I haven't been to NYC since before 911, so the photo looks terribly sad with those Twin Towers missing.
Thanks for the photos.

Hi Judy. I really enjoyed catching up on your NY posts. I'm glad you had a good time. I love NYC too and look forward to visiting my granddaughter there in Sept. She lives 5 blocks from Central Park and I so enjoy walking there---and of course just sitting and watching the people. (I don't deny I do much more sitting that walking!) Everyone should spend at least a few days in the city---and yes, preferably before they're as old as I am!

I tried to click on the GIA pic to read it but it would not let me.
The last time I was in NYC was in the late 70's. I am glad you enjoyed your visit..

I wish I could take you on my next trip to a new city. You have such a cool way of seeing the cityscape. I feel as if I've been there (and might...there's a possibility I'll be attending a conference there in Sept.)

That's the Deutsche Bank building, I think. It's situation is very controvercial five years after.

By the way, Gia is a well known known Fraud. I can hook you up with Theresita. She's got the news. But she works a little more toward midtown.
