1. Brooklyn Bridge
2. View from the top of the apt. building. The Statue of Liberty is behind the brown building on the left.
3. Another view from the top. Almost every building in NYC is beautifully ornamented. If you love architecture and applied ornament, this is the place to be! 4. Another view from the top. The spire
is the one on Trinity Church. The building behind it has four human figures on it, and I was trying to capture them, but I was too far from it to get much detail. Those figures are at about the 18th floor level above ground, so the only people who ever see them are ones who live and work nearby. It is interesting to me that such amazing detail was important to the builders, since it would be seen by so few people. Be sure to scroll down to the other 2 photo posts, just below.

Ah, yes. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. Actually we walked from the WTC site to City Hall, across the bridge and back under the bridge to the river. I haven't posted those pictures yet.
Yes, the architecture of NY is stunning, just amazing!
Love, love, love all your photo of New York.
I absolutely love architecture like NY has, and Chicago. Thanks for sharing your trip!
Lois Lane
Very cool! One of these days... that's going to be my trip too. ;)
Have you recovered? rested? Happy to be home again? LOL
Awesome photos!...Given your love for the older buildings with character...you would absolutely love old Montreal or old Quebec even more...there are sections of the streets that are all coblestoned ....It is like stepping into a window of historical Europe....
We never get tired of bringing family or friends there when they come to visit...
I love architectural detail. That photo with the two contrasting buildings is stunning. Love them!

These posts have made me yearn to go back to the big Apple. Thanks for all the pictures!
Judy, thanks for sharing these photos here. I've never been to NYC, and now I know I just have to go! And the beauty salon for dolls- boy, do I have one for them, lol! A walking doll I had as a kid that I left out in the rain. You can imagine!
Yep, NY is definately on my list. Hubby practically grew up there (NY/NJ) so he knows what to do. I just need to nudge him along ;)
great shots!
Architecture is one of my passions! I still need to show you the few pics I took near ground zero on Broadway. I still want to see Grand Central Station, I think we drove by it a few times. I'm still kicking myself (or rather my camera) for not getting more pics...have loved yours!
I have a 14 yr old niece who wants to live in NYC some day. Today I emailed her and told her the rent amt of the 1 bedroom apt...her reply was..."an apartment in NYC for that much? I think I'll pass. Maybe I will live on the streets with the hoboes, that would be cheap right? LOL"
Have a great weekend!
You've got to love a city that embraces its architectural heritage as NYC does. You've also got to love it when folks like you take the time to drink it all in.
The lesson to the rest of us is quite clear: look up and appreciate it.
Hi Judy, I've really enjoyed your trip to New York, it's a city with its own personality by the sound of it.
I have read every one of your wonderful New York posts and I am ready to pack my bag, board a plane, and visit NYC one more time.
Your photos are wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
