Look what's hiding in the waters of northern Hawaii. I saved the photos, but I forgot to write down what they were. How dumb was that? I know the lower photo is some sort of algae, and the top one is a crab.
I love the sealife! And yes, the bottom one looks like art glass. I, too, am grateful for the freedoms we have in this country. May it always be so. Michele says hi.
Greetings, The crab is a Decorator Crab, as in decorated with camouflage (clever crab!) and the algae is called Funnelweed. However, after reading your entry and the comments I think the name should be changed to Art Glass Algae.
gotta love the sea creatures. it was always a treat to come across a hermit crab as a kid. we moved to Maui in 1968 when i just turned 2 years old. i lived there until i graduated high school in 84. My parents both turn 70 this year and still live there.

I agree with the muse: it practically begs for a frame and some wall space.
Wow....I'm suddenly needing to be near the sea.
Most of all, let us bow our heads, thanking God for delivering our great nation into the hands of a fearless Christian Warrior-King.
If Martha Stewart were a crab, she'd look like that. I think he may have had Martha help him decorate that home. ;)

That crab looks as if it is covered with sea anemones. I suppose this would be a good way to hide on the ocean floor waiting for supper to come along.
Here from Michele.
