I've been surfing blogs, and I just found one that had a click and drag "magnetic poetry" link. Here is what I wrote:
An ancient unknown place beyond escape;
I must remain another moment to make the scene complete.
Confess to being lost? Never!

It is more interesting to try to write poetry when you have a set number of words to choose from. There was a feature allowing the creation of new words, but I used only what was available in the link.
Try it....the blog was November Child.

This weekend we are supposed to travel to my son and daughter-in-law's home, to celebrate her 40th birthday. I have been told she is approaching it with some trepidation, but I can tell her that turning 40 may be one of the highlights of her life. By the time you turn 40, you are somewhat less concerned about what others think and you feel free to really be yourself. A woman can really bloom after 40, and since she is already quite a woman, she should really show us something now! Happy Birthday, Stephanie, we love you!
I said we are 'supposed' to travel......yet again we are expecting Winter Precipitation (the weather people always make it sound as though it is capitalized) and true to form - they don't know how much or what form it will arrive in. They messed up so badly last week that they are hedging all their bets and calling for snow changing to rain, which is turning to ice, melting on Sunday and re-freezing that night. Wish me luck!

Will wonders never cease?
I am constantly amazed by what can be done via the computer (I've come to it lately) and yesterday was an example. I posted a comment to a blog, and later I got an email from someone informing me there is a web-site devoted to the summer camp I had mentioned in my post. The camps ceased to exist some years back, although some of the buildings are still standing. I visited the web-site and it is wonderful to relive the memories (what few I have) of those years (1947-53). I emailed the person who started the site, just to thank him, and it turns out we knew a few people in common.
I was found through Classmates.com a few years ago, by a girl with whom I had attended the 4th, 5th and 6th grades, and I had a little contact with her during college. We had lunch the last time I was back home for a reunion, and we are in occasional contact through email. It is so nice to be able to maintain relationships with childhood friends and to share memories with those who shared experiences back then as well.
I attended a memorial service today for one of the wisest and most loving men I have ever known. His name was Dr. Albert Hugh T. Doss, and I was most privileged to have known him. One could not be in his presence without smiling; indeed, his smile was as bright as sunlight and one simply had to respond in kind, no matter what your attitude might be at the time. Thanks, Dr. Doss for your loving acceptance of every living being. May you go with God to your next life.

Back to the Beginning
I started college as an art major and I was hired to work part-time in a flower shop owned by my Mother's friends. I got very interested in the design aspects of floristry and began to experiment on my own. Within 3 months, I was producing floral arrangements for everything but funerals. That started a life long interest in floral design, but I did not do it professionally again until my children were in middle school. At that time I volunteered at our local art museum, and found that they needed help with flowers for their social events. I started my business in 1984, and for the next twelve years, I provided 90% of the flowers for the museum openings and special events.
The museum proved to be a fertile ground for growing a business in wedding and party flowers, owing to numerous contacts made there. I have been very fortunate in working with many caterers, photographers, wedding consultants, musicians, cake bakers and others associated with the wedding and party industry. Now, I am offering to help brides and their families during the planning process. If you have a question about a wedding (especially the wedding flowers) please ask and I will do my best to help.
