Uh-Oh, You've Been Tagged by a Meme

I found this meme at http://rashbre2.blogspot.com This could be interesting!

1. Go into your archive.
2. Find your 23rd post.
3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag some other people to do the same.

My 23rd post, fifth line reads "I always imagine these names being pronounced by Barney Fife and that makes me laugh a whole lot".

I have been keeping a record of names that sound funny to me since about 1963. I was working in a hospital at that time, and one of my chores was to go through some old record books to find the percentages of cancer found in our laboratory. Some of the names sent me into fits of giggles, and since then I have found scads more of them. If you want to read some of them, go to:

You know what could be interesting? If enough people do this meme and someone compiles all our lines into a story. I'm not volunteering for it, you understand, but I think it could be fun. Before my computer crashed in July, I remember reading a story created by a blogger who sought lines from each commenter to her site, which she then compiled into a very interesting short story. I have no clue now as to who she was. If you remember, please let me know.

I liked the list of funny names. I think some people might decide to make comments there. I decided to return to this one.
... When to college with Shanda Lear (father was owner of Lear Jets)
...a bank security guard at Boston safe Deposit Trust Co. is named (this is true) Harry Balls
...Back in W.Va. in Spencer, there were twins: Ima and Ura Butts
...and in my sister's class there was a Mike Hunt.

A doc I worked with collected names too. I remember we had a Donald Duck and a Darla Dear. We also had a Roy Rogers who had hemorrhoids removed. I wonder whatever happened to his list.

I don't like memes generally, but I like this one. Maybe I'll try it. Golley.

I can't remember whether you contributed to her story, but I did.

Oh, and "Positive Wasserman Johnson"? Somebody is mixing up their medical diagnosis with their birth certificate. Zounds!

LOL, I love your list. I like when people collect interesting (and strange) things. I keep seeing this meme all over the place. I might participate, too...

I found mine:

"I've had many hitonious days and occurences in my life, and so have you."

This is from a post I wrote about the word "hitonious" that I made up in high school and still use today. Hitonious is used when hideous and horrendous just don't cut it.

I love this concept of grabbing the sentence from an old post! I also love the name game. My ex worked with a man named Ben Dover. Occasionally, on the radios, they'd have to page the poor man and it would sound like this -"Ben Dover, Ben Dover - Report to stage three." Needless to say, he was quite accustomed to the cackling around him. I guess with names like those, you must have a pretty good sense of humor or you're doomed!
