#66 and beyond....continuing the story

# 66. I was a hat model. The photo above was one of four in our local paper in January, 1960. I wish I still had those eyebrows!

# 67. I am the happy owner of a new mouse pad, thanks to none other than Rosie O'Donnell! If you go to her site http://rosie.com and sign up, you might get one too. It's bright yellow and it says:

Go blog urself.........................rosie.com

#68. I was a member of the Rainbow Girls; the young women's arm of the Masonic Order.
#69. I didn't see the ocean until I was sixteen years old.
#70. Drawing and painting are some of my favorite things to do, but I never have time for it any more.

Hurray, hurray, I'm Michele's site of the day! http://www.micheleagnew.com
Thanks, Michele, for choosing my site and thanks to all of you who stop by here. Come back soon, ya' heah?

Hi, Michele sent me.

Great picture. And as for #69, I was 23 before I ever saw the ocean (as long as the Gulf of Mexico counts... if not, I was 39!).

Michele sent me. I like the photo too. The story about the movie theatre is interesting

Just checked out rosie's blog. What's with the short choppy sentences, no puncuation and no capitalization. It is had to read they way she has it written. I did like the painting she did through.

Hi! Here via Michele...

What a gorgeous photo of yourself. A hat model hey? You must have a lovely shaped head! (*grin*)

I can't believe that you didn't see the ocean until you was 16. I guess us Aussies are lucky as most of us live within 100kms from the sea (some figure like that anyway!)

I too love to draw and paint. I had not picked up a pencil, let alone a paint brush for simply years, until 3 days ago! (Believe it or not!)

I have been here a few times before and I will be back....

Cheers ;)

Hello, Michele sent me. 'Get on over there,' she said sternly. 'Kenju has been so kind in your comments box even though you haven't visited her for ages. Go say sorry.'

I'm sorry, Kenju. But I'm glad I finally made it to your blog. And everyone's right, that photo is stupendously glamorous!

Wow! Who knew you were such a glamour girl? I love that you are doling out these tidbits instead of sharing your list all at once.

Enjoy your Michele-Sent-Me Day!

You are absolutely stunning, Judge. Couldn't much look at the hat for all the looking at you I was doing. Wow!

Got here on my own today. Love the hat. It reminds me of a really funny Mother/Daughter banquet story from the 60's....

I think Nys has a hat somewhat like that in her old dressup box.

How fun to be a hat model. I wanted to model in my youmger days.
Hello Michelle sent me :)

Hi, Michele sent me! Kenju, I love that photo of you in the hat...you're beautiful! Also, most of the female members of my family on my Dad's side were all Rainbow Girls, who went on to belong to the Eastern Star...course my grandmother took a slightly different path and became a member of the Rosicrucians, but that's a whole 'nother story!

You look oh so beautiful in that hat! I wish we still wore hats like that and that it was okay to wear them with shorts and flip flops.

Michele Sent Me....

and I'll be back. I love the picture. and as for the ocean the first time I supposedly saw it I was 26. However, it was raining and foggy in Washington (what' new with that?), so my friend may have just been saying it was the ocean.... who knows if it really was? :-)

I hope you'll visit me some time!

Wow! You looked fantastic. That is a photo to cherish.

Reminds me of when I did some secretarial/PA work for an elderly gentleman. I got chatting to his wife and commented on the old photo of her and said gosh, you look like a film star. Turns out she was!

Anonymous said...

Wow, so you made it to "site of the day" Congratulations and I know you deserve the honor. Of course, I am green with envy (not) and I didn't come by way of Michele exactly because I always look at yours first. =)
