Sammy, my "frequent visitor" cat, had not been around since the last time he was chased off the deck by my daughter's dog two weeks ago. Sammy was brave enough to surprise me on this, my birthday morning, with a chance visit. He was rewarded with a dish of salmon, which disappeared quickly. He then went upstairs for a quick nap, but didn't stay much longer. I hope he will come back soon. I really enjoy having him around (especially since he is house-trained and I don't have to have a litter pan.) And BTW, his owner is fine with it.
Another birthday has come and there are just 3 more hours until it is over. I don't relish being 72, but I do love living. I am blessed with enough good health that I am still able to work. I think when I am forced to retire, I will wither up and blow away. Being around fresh flowers; smelling and touching, designing and using my creativity keeps me going. I thank God daily for the talent that allows me to do it and the health that makes it possible, and for the business owners who tolerate and hire me!! Long may they prosper!
On Sunday, my son and his family, and my younger daughter and her family came to visit and took all ten of us out to lunch. On Monday, my older daughter came with her family and I treated them to a good meal. Today, mr. kenju took me out to a nice lunch and I did a little shopping for some fall clothing (although I need to get out my warm clothes before I buy anything else.) The weather has turned cool in the wake of the storm Sandy, although Sandy left no damage here in our area, for which we are very grateful. I offer my condolences to those who were in the path of the storm and had damage or power-outages and I give thanks for the tireless workers who are trying to get everything back to normal as soon as possible.

That is a lovely church indeed!! Its often the way, when we go to a place that's familiar, we never really stop to look...
Happy Birthday, again I know, but wishing you the very best for the coming year(s) ahead!!!
Must have been lovely having the family to share the celebrations with!!!
A very happy birhtday to you. That is a great church. Reminds me of a Viking ship. Glad the storm missed you.
Happy Birthday Judy and I am so glad it was full of delightful visits.
To paraphrase George Burns, no one wants to the 72 unless you are 71.
Also pleased Sandy left you all alone. I was wondering.
Have a great seventy second year.
May you go on doing all the things you enjoy for many a long year more!
A belated happy birthday!
And how lovely the kitty knew it somehow and came to visit.
I can't believe I missed your birthday.
Do pleasse forgive me and I send you all my best affectionate wishes for many, many more.
A Very Happy Birthday, My Dear Judy!!! I think it is GREAT that you are still working and creating with the beautiful living things you so love---AND, that you have the Health to continue, my dear. It makes all the difference!
Happy Bithday Judy! And many more! Have got new computer, still gettingused to it. space bar isn't right for my fingers! (Sssh! its my birthday on Saturday but too many more than you!!)
Happy Birthday, again Judy!! I so enjoyed reading this Blog, where you expressed your gratefulness for health, family, etc. Enjoyed seeing the eaves of the church, and it does look like what may be conceived as Noah's Ark. This reminds me to always "look up" when I enter a church.
Fondly, Cuzzin Joy
A belated happy birthday wish to you, Joared. Seventy-two isn't bad compared to the option. I got through it (as many have done) and so can you. Sweet ventures!

I'm so impressed that you are still going strong at 72 Judy. You do beautiful work and I bet you'll continue for a long time.
Glad you had a nice birthday.
Well well, my illness caught me missing your birthday. Happy Belated 72nd. For three more days you and Ron will be the same age and then he turns 73:) The cat returned to celebrate with you...that is so neat. Take care and thanks for your kind words to me during my recent plight.
I don't know how I've missed your posts here. I did see the photo of Sam on FB. I think it is so neat that he comes by for a visit from time to time.
I'm glad you had such a nice birthday. I think it's wonderful that you are such an artist with flowers and can still use your art.
happy belated birthday
Damn I really seemed to have missed all the fun while I was away! Happy birthday!
Belated birthday wishes to you. Thanks to Cop Car for wishing me happy birthday here -- a celebration I had earlier -- how did she know? -- but think she may have meant the wishes for you and wrote my name by mistake.
Joared--Thanks for letting me know of my scrup. I often get confused as to where I am because I keep several screens open.
Judy--Happy (very belated) birthday to you, too.
Both--It should have come to my attention that I had only left one greeting, rather than two. Obviously, even if 72 didn't faze me, 74 has proven too much of a challenge to me. *smiling*
