Old Greeting Cards ~ 50's Kitsch

My mom kept these greeting cards all her life. The birthday card was from me and the small note was from a friend, congratulating her on her successful tenure as the Worthy Matron of the Tiskelwah Chapter of the Eastern Star. I have too much of her memorabilia, but I cannot bring myself to throw it away. Maybe one day I will find someone who collects this type of ephemera and will take it off my hands.

What a wonderful card! It reminds me of the wallpaper that was in my grandma's bathroom.

Here via Michele's.

LOVE THIS!!!! I must have missed it! Well, I'm here now....That is the sweetest card! I am with you...there are things I just cannot bring myself to throw out..I did a MAJOR clean-out-in 1984...and NOW, I'm really sorry I threw away certain things....I know, they say it makes room for NEW things to come in...but....BUT! You know what I mean?

Hi Judy..I have no idea!!! I haven't been back to that neck-of-the-woods for...Gosh...too many years to remember...And I don't know the diner you speak of...IN some ways, that's like 'another life' to me....

...and the other place? you mentioned?? I haven't a clue. Again, it's been 'forever' and in all honesty I do not think I ever ate in a restaurant in Port Washington....

Neat card and notecard! I'd give almost anything to have some of the things my mother saved for years and years. Even with my own stuff, I'm one to drag it all out and look through it reminiscing for hours on end from time to time. Imagine if I had hers too? Wow.
