One would think 'Id have had my fill of the hospital, and I have, but we visited there today.....

I had to have some blood drawn this morning and get a script filled at the hospital pharmacy. While we were waiting,  I got wheeled back to the 3rd floor, from which I had been discharged last Sunday. I saw 2-3 nurses and aides, who all greeted me warmly.  I also met a volunteer who had his surgery one year ago. He meets with people who are having heart surgery and tells them what to expect afterwards. My daughter suggested that I may want to join that volunteer group, but I said I'd be too negative for that right now. I will have to get beyond the terrible soreness before I would be of any help to a prospective patient. I'd scare them to death.

After the hospital, we stopped by the NC Governor's Mansion for a short visit. Mel's crew started decorating yesterday, and it is killing me not to be with them this year. We were graciously asked to join the decor crew for lunch. You may recall how I have lauded their meals in the past, and today was no exception. Tasty catfish, Asparagus, cheese grits and corn-bread, with strawberry cake for dssert. It was all excellent. I ALSO ENJOYED SEEING THE PEOPLE with whom I usually work and I have been missing them this fall. I took a few photos, and I will publish them soon. It is looking beautiful there already.

I bet you did miss not joining in decorating the Mansion, but that was very nice of them to invite you for lunch, and seeing people you usually work with.

It makes me happy that you could join the decorators for lunch. While I know you would have liked to join in, I am betting your pain made it easy for you to skip it this year. That is a lovely photo!

I bet it was nice that it was truly a "visit" to the hospital and not another "stay." The Governor Mansion posts are always a highlight of your blog!

Good times with old friends and the food sounds wonderful. Merry Christmas to you, hope by the time Christmas Eve arrives the pain will be a fading memory.

You may be hurting but you are looking good. Know this time of year it is hard for you to be sidelined. Next year for sure.

I was thinking about all you usually do at this time of year and how you must miss it. How lovely that you could join them there at the Mansion and have a lovely lunch, at least!
Hoping you feel better and better with each passing day, dear Judy.....

Damn, Judy...this is the first time I've had to check up on you and I hate that it's been so hard a recovery. I'm glad you were able to join your old crew at least for a good meal. Please do all they ask of you and GET WELL SOON.

I was thinking about you and not being there to help decorate the mansion this year. I hope you continue to improve. I know you will. Take care and let your kids pamper you.
