A New Purchase and a Thank You...

I've just been sitting here, admiring my new rug. It makes the room quieter and a wee bit more colorful. You know how when you're shopping and you're not quite sure what you want, but when you see it - it hits you like a whammy between the eyes? Well, that's what this rug did for me. I had run all over town looking, been on many web-sites, and revisited a few in stores - but when I saw this one, I unhesitantly   (it IS too a word....)  said - This is it!!  Now I need a few new throw pillows and smaller coffee table....perhaps a leather, pillow-top bench or something similar, like 2 matching hassocks. I could always use more seating, couldn't you?  I like the table we have now; it was my grandmother's library table, and my mom had it cut down to make it a coffee table. The problem is that it is loo long for the space available. When I recline my chair, I have to push the table out of the way of my feet, and that makes it not centered - which I hate. So I am looking for something less than 28-30" wide. It may take a while, but I'll find it.

Gratitude is a good feeling and I feel the need to express mine. Years ago, when I first started blogging, I followed a blog by someone whose initials were AC, I think. She posted about her love of animals, among other things, and music. Posting an audio tape of one of her favorites, Tommy Emmanuel, led me to voice my great liking for that guy's music. Lo and behold, I received a CD she had put together for my listening pleasure - as the old DJ's used to say - and I played it a lot in those first few months. Of course, as time went on I sort of forgot about it, as new CD's took precedence for a while.

A few days back while cleaning and organizing, I discovered that CD again. I have played it at least 6-7 times in the last few days and I like it even more than I did on first hearing, if that's possible. I just want you to know, AC, if you are still reading here that I am very grateful for your gracious gift and still enjoy it. I wish you were still blogging too.

Isn't a great when you find the perfect thing in a store and you just know it's right for you? Enjoy your new rug.

Rediscovering old music is always a joy, in a sense that's my job as a dj, not only to play the expected but the unexpected sometimes too.

I wish AC was still around. Her blog isn't up any more. She made me a CD of some bluegrass music.

I remember her, and think your new rug is gorgeous.

Your new rug is lovely. I like the way it doesn't have a border, so makes the rug and the floor all one, if you can possibly see what I mean!

Now if I could just stop Mr.G from bringing home things from charity shops, maybe I could get a bit of style in my room!! I'd be ashamed to show a photo of it, but on the other hand it sort of fits us like an old glove. But I think your room is lovely, and I envy you!

Love your rug. Hate losing blog friends with no way to find them. My bil knows Tommy Emmanuel.

I'm not a fan of bare floors. The rug looks great.

We never know how powerful an impact we will have on others, and you've just reminded us how true that statement is. Somewhere, I'm sure AC's ears are burning.

Given the weather outside, I think I'll hunt down some new music, as well, toss my headphones on and just enjoy the snowy view out the window. Hope you're having a blessed Saturday so far, Judy.

Your new rug is lovely Judy....like Pat, I'm not a fan of bare floors. Rugs warm up a room, and your feet, too!
I often think about bloggers that used to blog and don't anymore----how nice she made that CD for you.....And that you rediscovered it, once again.

Beautiful rug and I love it when serendipity kicks in, and you find just what you've been looking for.

Nice rug, Judy. Isn't it interesting how we make Blog friends and really miss them when they stop blogging for whatever reason?

Oh that's the way to buy something... When it hits you right between the eyes and you know, know, know it is right.

And what a sweet story, of re-finding the CD. Hope your friend is still reading, and will contact you.
