Busy, Busy and Longing to be Back to Normal (Whatever that is.)

Busy, but not in the way I'd like to be.

Doctors, chiropractors, auto damage estimators, body shop owners, car rental agencies and agents from several different insurance companies are taking all my time.  Grrrrr.  I'd rather be working, and I do work this coming weekend - thank Heaven. My wallet and my sanity need it badly. And beside that, I miss Mel Day! I haven't seen him since January.

My advice, should you seek it, is to never be involved in a car accident if there is any way you can avoid it. Aside from the pain it can cause, the mental aggravation of dealing with people who approach it from both sides of the spectrum is rough. What I mean is that an agent of an insurance company will be seemingly very concerned about your aches and pains and act as the very soul of compassion  -  up until it is time to settle your claim. Then their tunes change.

I consider it extremely lucky  (for many reasons) that I have three wonderful children; each of whom has a career that benefits all of us:  an attorney, a nurse and a commercial insurance salesman. They come in very handy all the time but especially when I've been in an accident, and their advice has saved me a lot of trouble. I am fully expecting it will this time,  as it did before. I just wish it was over.

The vile and nasty bombing in Boston has all of us upset, and I am no exception. Over and over I've heard people ask..."What is this world coming to?"  I have no answer, but I do know that the good in the world always outranks the evil, even when it seems quite the opposite. It must. We have to have hope and believing that good outweighs evil in the face of evidence to the contrary is imperative for our mental well-being. I do wish that the media would report on it and give us all the necessary facts as they appear, but not dwell on it 24/7. Mr. kenju has again resorted to watching his favorite old movies, in lieu of the news. One can only take so much of it before anger or depression sets in.

Our hearts go out to all the people in Boston; those who were killed or maimed, and all their families and friends. May you not lose your faith, your hope, your ability to forgive in spite of all that has happened.

So sorry you are going through the tortures of the aftermath of a car accident. I know you cannot wait for all that to be behind you....So complicated!

As to Boston...this was Horrific! It reminds one that everything in your life can change in a millisecond. For all those hurt, maimed, and dead, the aftermath of these Bombings will last forever, and for all of their family's and friends, as well.

The bombings were dreadful. Makes me sick.

I'm sorry you are going through a rough time at the moment. I've had a couple of accidents in the car and it really is a nightmare I agree.

Maybe we all need to sit and watch some old movies for a while.

We learned from experience just to take the insurance offer and forget trying to negotiate. It only prolongs the agony and makes your life hell.

You really are fortunate in your children's occupations. You probably could have had a few more kids just to cover plumbing, auto mechanics and electrical:))
When we read of all the great responses by professionals and bystanders in Boston it makes one proud. I feel so badly for those innocents who were killed or injured.
Just heard they caught a suspect. Yes!!!!!

Oh, I so agree about car accidents! They take your money, your time and all your emotional well-being away!

Boston looked and sounded horrific - as does the explosion in Texas, which I caught at the end of a news broadcast in my car. Mr.M's second cousin is married and lives in Boston.

Not to mention earthquakes in Iran/Pakistan.

But, we HAVE to hold on to hope that good will overcome. And pray, if that's your thing!

Hope the aches, pains and car/insurance problems are sorted real soon. Enjoy being back at work this weekend, but please take it easy and don't over do things.

It was not a good few days with bombs, explosions and earthquakes. All those killed or maimed were some woman's child/ren.

Kenju, as I think of you, greetings after such a long time. You did not say you were injured in the accident, and thank God for that. You need a chef and a carpenter among your offspring, too. I have a jewelry maker and an artist plus a newspaper reporter. I hope things go better. Ronni, over at TGB, isn't too happy either.

I agree with Mr. K...old movies. That's the answer, at least it gives a respite from all those helpless feelings that this crazy world brings out in me !!

Accidents are no fun -- even those that cause no major personal injury. Still, sometimes the effects of even a simple rear-ender can result in neck and back problems that don't even show up until much later. Be glad the person who hit your car had insurance -- many don't, though legally it's required in Calif. There's the inconvenience with all the appointments, getting a replacement car while yours is being repaired. Cars today seem to be much more expensive to repair -- no more simply pounding out a dent -- whole panels and body sections have to be replaced. Glad you have all those professional consultants in your family as expect they must be of help. Hope all goes well for you.

Hope you are feeling better now, and that the aches and pains have subsided along with the aggravation. You are lucky to have an attorney, nurse, and insurance salesman to advise you. It's pretty awful dealing with all that car accident stuff without support.

It's a good idea to turn off the "news" until the facts can be reported.

Hi Judy, there are lots of things to avoid "if you can" my list of course would be headed by Bowel Cancer, but even the dreaded big C can be beaten with Luck, the right attitude and the right medical team.
