A Wedding Shower

Last weekend, two of my neighbors and I hosted a "Round the Clock" ** (edit below) wedding shower for the daughter of another neighbor. It was held in a former neighbor's lovely town home, on a day that started out rainy and bleak but by the time the shower started, the sun had come out and dried up all the wet areas.

We went all out with the food, and served chicken salad in cucumber cups, deviled eggs, crudite plates, miniature quiches, a cheese platter, ham biscuits, cashews and punch.

Another friend was asked to do flowers for the table, and they were lovely.

The bottom photo shows the pretty bride to be and her mother. We all had a very nice time, and we are looking forward to the wedding!  Mel is doing the flowers and I'm helping, so you will see photos of that in June.

** A "'Round the Clock Shower" is where you are given a specific time of day and your gift has to reflect that. My time was 12 midnight, so I gave a nice pair of pillowcases (800 thread count, white, standard - and can be exchanged for a different size or color, if needed.)

Oh yum, I haven't had breakfast yet and that spread is delightful. What is a "Round the Clock" shower? It's new to me.

I've never heard of that type of shower. Sounds like fun. You certainly outdid yourself with the food...all my favorites.
How come they didn't have you do the flowers?...or were they being nice and figured you deserved a break !

I never heard of a "Round the Clock" shower either. Your festivities around a wedding are way more elaborate than here at home in Ireland. Ours are just the one day, though not the guests often stay in the hotel overnight and breakfast the next morning can go on for a couple of hours and be like another party!
