"Johansson says she's paranoid about nude photos." (see a photo below)
"Scarlett Johansson admits it still bothers her to think countless people have seen her naked."
Last year, her email was hacked and private photos she took for her husband were leaked online.."
I don't have much pity for anyone who puts nude photos anywhere on a computer and then expresses dismay when they are discovered. If she didn't want people to see her naked, she shouldn't have taken the photos. Period.
In the past, I have often thought that some Hollywood types see scandal as a way to increase their publicity. It always seems to come when their careers are slowing down. I can't say that's what Johansson had in mind - but surely she's smart enough to know that it was possible for someone to hack into her email account. I'm not buying her frustration.
And other things I'm not buying:
The Kate Spade brown leather loafers I saw in TJMaxx yesterday after work. I almost fainted when I saw the price tag - I can't remember exactly, but it was somewhere well over $100. They weren't anything special either. I saw several purses I like, but they were $200, and $149. Considering I usually only carry a purse 1-2 years, I think that's too precious. I know - I'm cheap and crabby (and proud of it.)

Pictures of Scarlett. Or much of anything else. I really don't need much. Happy (Greek) Easter.
I felt the same way about Scarlett's 'frustration'. Also, since when is TJMAXX carrying stuff THAT expensive. ridiculous.
My addition to the not buying list.. have you seen the Jennifer Lopez clothes collection at Kohls? Jennifer Lopez has never worn anything that ugly. ever. Her maids might dust her home with that crap, but no one is WEARING it.
I hate to disagree with you, my dear Judy, but I do not believe Ms. Johannsen is looking for publicity or a career boost with what she said about those pictures. So, I guess, I'm not buying your evaluation of this particular actresses motivation.
Maybe we should all know that anything you put on your computer is subject to "hacking"---Who would have thought that FACEBOOK could get into my Email Address Book, and send emails to everyone in there saying "Naomi would like you to be her friend...", when all I did was sign in to see someone's Facebook Page...Well, Not Me! I was shocked, beyond belief. But they did do that---And frankly, I feel rather naive about what can happen on computers...STILL, even after being on-line for seventeen or eighteen years...!
Stupid? I guess so. But in the case of this particular actress, I don't believe she would be looking for publicity like this to revive her career, which doesn't need reviving.
I agree on both issues Judy. The whole nude phot barely hits my radar. But the prices of designer purses and shoes are a sore spot. I don't mind paying for quality , however I have been carrying the same $30 handbag for a few years now . I would be hesitant to take one of the designer o es out of the house. And at work I shove my purse in a drawer!
Everything already costs too much and when you add in a celebrity endorsement, it just adds to the price. It amazes me the things people can afford to buy when we are supposed to be so economically devastated. Oh how other countries laugh at us.
We have a similar situation with a female pop star here in the UK who has had a video of her being "intimate" with her ex boyfriend shown on the internet. If you don't want photos or a video of yourself having sex or whatever, don't do it. That simple.
I agree on everything you have said here.
My handbag that I mostly carry is a vintage Etienne Aigner bag that I bought for about $25 on eBay about five years ago. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
Young women I know swoon over it!
I remember the first time I went into Saks 5th Ave. I gravitated to a blouse I thought I must have. It was $500.00. I have the taste of a rich old bag, just not the money.
Boo hoo, poor Scarlett.
Patti, I can walk into a store and find the most expensive thing in it almost immediately. It is a curse!!
The only two long day time skirts in the shop at £129 each and boring.
Did buy a delightful cotton one made in Cornwall and at £55.
I've always put my money on my feet, not in my hand. Cheap purses do not cause pain except to the psyche; cheap shoes can really cause a hurtin' to the feet.
As a younger folk, I have to admit that I find it socially irresponsible to have photos like that of ones person. It's like playing with fire and then crying because you got burned! Not a wise idea. Young and stupid is one thing, but enough of them just keep doing it and wonder why we don't go see their movies. It's just time to say enough is enough.
