Storm and Eclipse

Storm, in her favorite position. When my son saw this pic, he wanted to know why her head looked so small.
"Because it is, in comparison to her huge, fat body", I said.

Eclipse, who doesn't have many photos, due to her natural reticence to pose and her proclivity to move toward me whenever she sees me.

Another problem I have in trying to photograph Eclipse (called Clipsie) is that her fur is dense and very non-reflective, so pics of her tend to be a black blob. If I try to lighten them, the background of the photo is so out of whack it looks bad. The comforter she is laying on here is black with coral and red-orange flowers, and very little yellow-gold. Finally I got one in which you could see detail (plus her one white face hair (right cheek). This cat is the most affectionate one I have ever had. She follows me from room to room like a dog; but unlike a dog, she is patient and long-suffering with me until I have time for her.

Storm, on the other hand, follows me from room to room and meows quite plaintively until I stop and pet her, and if I don't respond, she licks my legs until I do.

You could always paint your cat for contrast. Try calico or a lovely paisley.

Mutzi, my grey tiger-striped, lazy, gluttonous, obnoxious kitty likes to flop down wherever I'm about to walk. Top of the stairs, in the doorway, front of the shower - Flop. Then she looks up and says, "Whaddaya gonna do about it?"

What gorgeous cats, Judy and you were so right....they do VERY much look like my Ralph and Foster. (with a few more added pounds...lol) And my Ralph is the "talker" here....we think he might have some Siamese in him. Black cats are very difficult to photograph though, aren't they?

OK, I am really not a cat fan...but I have to say they look happy and fat! That has to be good right???

My best friend has 2 cats; they are both convinced they are dogs. One tries to open the (storm) door for me each morning. The other 'tells' on me when I mock him.

When they were kittens, they loved to be picked up, laid across your arm, and have their bellies rubbed. Not so much now, as they are pretty fat.

They are beautiful! Our Alli is not affectionate at all and never has been. She's very pretty and loves posing for the flash. She even offers a purrrrr when we enter the room, especially my husband, but don't touch her because that will get your hand slapped. Affection is on her terms. We love her though. Isn't amazing how 'part of the family' our pets become?

Have a great day, and happy new year!

I know how difficult it is to snap photos of dark animals. I have lots of trouble getting my doxie's coat to show as shiny as it should.

The cats are lovely and I know they bring you a great deal of love and affection. I miss cats and would have one in a minute, but (sigh) not while I have parrots.

Oh I LOVE fat cats. They are always happy cats, well fed, secure, and affectionate. Have two of my own, well on their way to fatness.

This is a great tummy shot.... does Storm ever get in this position on your feet?
That is some tummy there. Our Ragdolls sleep in this position all the time.
It is very hard to get a good picture of a black cat... perhaps on a light background like a white sheet or something. She looks quite robust as well! The robust cats can really keep the feet warm when you sit at your computer.

We had a guest cat one night this week, a kitten, sort of a brindle color with black, ginger and yellow mixed in. She was an absolute pistol... I had forgotten how tiny a space a kitten could fit through. She got into the bathroom closet by means of a 2 inch space under the door, then climbed the shelves knocking things off as she went. I was never more glad to have sedate cats... well except Maggie when you try to cut her nails.

Beautiful cats. My hubby says that cats that act like dogs are the only cats worth having.

The wedding photos are wonderful.

What's wrong with using exclamation points??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Mimi was a "fluffy" cat too...she has been on an Atkin's kitty diet for 3 years and has lost half a cat! My Drake is like your Clipsie....black with one white face whisker! Cats are so special....your pics are really good and show how beaytiful tummies can be!

Eclipse and McCloud would make a fine (fat) couple. Think of the sheer tummy mass between the two of them.

Those are 2 very adorable kitties. Storm looks incredibly cuddly in that pose. I bet she realises it too. Ha ha!
