There were so many charming villages on this trip. These photos were all taken in Switzerland, I believe. The tiny church with the steeple perched on the roof was repeated numerous times throughout the countryside.

These pics do not show the scope and distance of the areas I was photographing. The middle pic, particularly, was of a huge expanse; so lush and green I couldn't resist snapping the pic.

Dotted all over the place were these small cottages, out in the middle of nowhere, and many of them were surrounded by cattle and sheep. Everywhere you looked was like a scenic calendar!

Tomorrow, I will begin the pics taken in Zurich. It is a charming place! I know I have used that word too much, but it is completely descriptive of Switzerland, and especially Zurich. Posted by Picasa

Even when viewed from a train window, the countryside is so picturesque! I love being able to see parts of the world I've never visited!

We had a holiday booked at Lake Como which we cancelled after my husband had a heart episode. He's fine now but it has limited our travels so I take a vicarious pleasure in yours.

What a fantastic train journey. Wouldn't want to drop off with that scenery - and so close to the lake!

Wooooooah. I must visit and see the Alps myself cos these pictures look really tempting. Makes me imagine what it would have been like to be a chalet school girl:)

I can't help but think of "Heidi" when seeing these pictures. Did it get a lot colder through the Alps?

Wow, very pretty. I love the little church that crests the top of the hill. On our trip, we stayed in a little town called Poffabro in the Dolomite Alps for two days (eastern end of the alps above Vencie). B's family has a family home there. A very old and rickety one. lol
