I have been trying for three days to upload a pic for this post. What's up with that, Blogger???

I saw a bumper sticker recently, on a car in the parking lot of the local Social Security building, and it said:

"Well behaved women rarely make history".

"That's probably true", I mused. And then I happened to notice the inside of that car as I entered mine.

It was an absolute pigsty. The floor and seats in both the front and back were littered with empty water bottles, dirty tissues, wadded-up papers and fast food bags. It had to have been at least a month of accumulation. I had my camera; I should have taken a picture of it.

"Yuck", I exclaimed, out loud, to no one in particular. "If that car owner makes any history at all, she's likely to be infamous.

My mom always said that your car is a metaphor for the way you live your life; therefore, a messy car interior would seem to indicate a messy life, a person who is late for appointments, forgets things, isn't very clean in his/her habits.

What do you think? Do you agree? Is your car messy most of the time? Do you have to clean off the seat or rake the floor when you have someone riding with you? What do you think that says about you?

I go through phases. Sometimes, you could eat off the inside of my car. Other times, it looks as if people HAVE been eating off the inside of it.

When I had a car it was often in need of washing, but seldom messy. I had trash bags in both seats and the kids knew that if they left a mess with food wrappers, there would be no more food in the car for awhile.

It takes next to no time to keep things up, but can be a bear to get them clean once they've gotten out of hand.

Our car is neat and clean, but not obsessively so.
I just don't like to have to move junk if we give someone a ride..

My car is never messy. I remove from the car whatever I take into it. It takes all of 10 seconds extra. So no, my car is never messy.
I bet you're not surprised. lol

My car is messy. My house is kind of messy. But my mind is completely and totally organized, my computer is completely and totally organized... go figure!

I have a practically photographic memory, so I can always remember where things are, even if they are in piles. I *love* a neat house and a neat office and a neat car... I just want someone else to clean it for me!

Here via michele today!

No fair Judy, for someone who has posted maybe 100 photos over the last couple of weeks to complain about Blogger not posting pictures.
BTW my car is messy, not DIRTY just untidy.

My car goes through stages. It gets messy when I've been carting a lot of things or people around. Also in the winter, when it's too cold to clean and vaccuum. But mostly, my car is clean enough to transport an unexpected passenger. Same with my house. My desk at work, however...total pigsty. I keep making piles to get to later...then never getting to them. I can't see my desk under the stacks and stacks of papers. I hate it, but yet...there it is.

I know your frustration about loading pictures, I tried for a day & finally got it to work. There seems to be an issue with it often.

Part of my car is messy and part of it is not! So I guess I am a combination...

I have always said....I am "Ordered Chaos"....LOL...And that is the trukth.

Yes, my dear Judy, you are one of my oldest Bloggy Friends...You and Rachel were the first people I met through blogging that I did not know before...So, yes indeed! YOU ARE AN OLD FRIEND, MY DEAR!

For me, the condition of my external life is usually a pretty accurate reflection of my internal life. Mess=more out of control; tidy= feeling pretty good and organized. I'm writing you an e-mail...

I too have phases with a clean car and then other times... like now... it is filled with things I should take to storage and other odds and ends. So I hope this doesn't reflect too badly.

Growing up my dad always said..."A cluttered room is a cluttered mind"....I DESPISE that saying. Now I say it to my kids!

Our car is clean... although we have 2 junk drawers in our home. I dont own a calendar, but am never late. I liked to call my life "oraganized chaos."

It sounds like my car! I feel absolutely no extension of self when it comes to my car. It's just a vehicle means to an end. I do feel my house is an extension of me so I try harder to keep that up but NEVER can live up to my mother's standards.

While I detest clutter/mess and disorganization....I have to say just like judging a book by a cover....one can't just make an arbitrary judgement of the owner of a messy car. Too many shades of gray.

At a gut level we're our own metaphor.
