Odds and Ends ~ 12

One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results.

Criticism, like rain, should be gentle enough to nourish a man's growth without destroying his roots.

Frank A. Clark, writer (1911- )

And this may be the best saying yet: A child, like your stomach, doesn't need all you can afford to give it.

Just spent the day trying to help Nyssa get her six bulletin boards together and her room... the onslaught of freshmen was today, not a parking place anywhere but the hinterlands. Tomorrow the upperclassmen start arriving and since it is a new dorm, she expects the excitment to be high and the majority of her residents to show up tomorrow, rather than Monday or Tuesday.

Loved it! and M. Friedman's quote reminded me of past college years...I am an Econ major. Happy weekend!

I like the criticism saying - well, I also like the one about the child and stomach may not need all that you can afford to give them.

Ohhhhh, JUDY! "One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results."

I wish I'd had that one for MY post of yesterday! Perfect!

It fits so many areas of endeavor beyond economics. Legislation, for example. And of course my favorite, environmental action.

Michele sent me to see you again, Judy. This is almost every day this week that I've been here!

"You have been on-line for 1 year" That sounds way too close to the truth for me. LOL Where did I leave that life of mine anyway???
