These three guys are supposed to surround an umbrella pole, but this small table doesn't have one. My larger table with an umbrella is glass, and I have been afraid to put something as heavy as these frogs on it, for fear of breakage. These were given to me by the friend I re-posted about after my trip. They are heavy metal, of some sort, and should last forever, even though they show signs of weathering. I think they could hold a gazing ball. Wouldn't that look good?

Hi Judy ~~ You sure have frogs all sorts and sizes. I like the 3 in a circe, maybe singing - 0r croaking?? They are all nice. Thanks for visiting and getting a laugh. Take care, Merle.

Oooooh, I like the idea of the gazing ball! I have one of those in my backyard and it's amazing how much it takes in.

Now, don't count on this as fact (and I cannot personally verify it) but someone told me that if you spray your painted metalware with "shoe waterproofing" it'll keep it from further wear. Read up on it first though!
Another thought is petroleum jelly.

I love the gazing ball concept. It suggests togetherness and community...things we all very much need in this day and age.

It reminds me of a candle-holder that my wife bought. It's called Circle of Friends, and it features a bunch of folks in a circle, holding each other arm-in-arm. The candle goes in the middle (any tealight-type one will do) and when it is lit, it casts a wonderful set of shadows throughout the room.

We often use it when we're feeling the need to cocoon. It reminds me why I love being in the middle of this family.

Your frogs brought me immediately to that place. How magical is that?

Ha!lol ... I have this one in a green patina... my amethyst sphere sits on top of it, perched on froggy lips. Love this.
