Who's Watching American Idol?

Okay, so who's watching this season? I love this show, and I can't think why, but I just enjoy the heck out of it. So far, my favorites are the 16 year-old black girl, who is a very old soul in a young body. I mean Lisa, not Paris! That girl has more poise at the age of 16 than most of us have in a lifetime. My guy favorite is Ace Young, the one who could stand on the stage and just smile and I would vote for him for hours! He will be a big hit somewhere; if not in music, in movies or modeling. Lordy he is one gorgeous boy! I've always been a sucker for a pretty face.

Randy said on Tuesday night that he thought it would be the guys who stood out this year - but I may have to disgree with that. I didn't enjoy the singing from the guys last night as much as I did the girls on Tuesday. What do you think?

I really try not to watch it. But I did like the guy who looks older than the rest. Hope they don't get his hair changed before the end of the show.

I could vote for Ace all day, too!

I've never seen the show, Judy, though I hear about it alot at work and on blogs. The only reality show I watch is The Amazing Race.

My kids have this show set to tape on the DVR. I only have seen parts of it, but it is so funny, and some of those kids are really good. Simon can be a real stick in the mud, but that what gives the show its edge, I guess.

I'm a Taylor fan musically, myself, but, ahem, ummmm, ooooh...Ace? Lordy is right. He is a beauty for sure.

I was hoping Paris would catch her top before she pulled a Janet Jackson on stage. She's a good singer but she needs to stand stiller. Lisa is poised indeed. I can't imagine having the confidence to sing outloud.

Nah, I can't watch this. I am an American idle.

Paris is 17 now, I think she was 16 when she auditioned. The Pickler girl is just such a sweetheart, hope good things happen for her. Did you see Ace's brother in the audience?

No, no, no Judy. I can't Survivor is as low as I go. Bring back Queen For A Day!

Hoss, you are an American idyll.

Hope, I meant Lisa, not Paris.

Vicki, Survivor is pretty low lately....LOL. It is getting boring to me; same-old, same-old every season, and they focus on the troubles between the people and not on the good times they have - which they obviously do.

This is the first time i have ever really watched the show and gotten into it. I absolutely love the audition process and the hilarity that insues. However, this is the point that it starts to get a little boring for me. Michele sent me here tonight

My wife has been watching it which meens I've been watching it. She wasn't impressed by the guys last night either. You're right about that girl - wow! Anyway, I'm not likely to follow it on my own so let me know how it goes. Oh, and the fever is better - another good nights sleep should do it. Thanks for asking.

I adore Idol. I've been distracted with Figure Skating this week and missed Tuesday night, but it looks to be a great season.

Ace is cute, I had to google American Idol today to see what everyone was talking about, I don't watch the show.

Hi, Michele sent me.

I think it's fun to watch... although I haven't picked my favorite yet... still playing the field. I think they loaded the women's side up with hotties this year to get ratings from the guys though...

Well, you know what, I don't watch tv, but I do read your blog every day. I've already been here once today but here I am again, from Michele's blog.

I don't watch it at all. There's something about it that bothers the heck out of me, but I can't really say why. It just seems horribly exploitive.

Judy, I was going to mention a friend's daughter got as far as singing in front of Paula, Simon, and Randy. She was seen on TV and they edited it so the remarks made to someone else were attributed to her performance. The process to even get that far is grueling.

Hi, I saw you on Micheles

Taylor is my pick for the guys and Katherine for the girls.

I think they're different which helps them to stand out from the rest.
Ace is a hottie alright but if I listen to his voice without seeing him I think its not that special.
Paris is good too, reminds me a bit of Fantasia.

Love your blog btw.

YAYYY! Another AI fan! I've been hooked on that show since its inception.

You're right about the little 16 year old. She's a dynamo! Paris is wonderful as well, but just the fact that she's LIVED in that world since birth (via her mother and grandmother) and might have gotten to the point she is today through years of rigorous training ... well ... let's face it, she's going to be a success one day just based on all that. She doesn't need AI as a base.

I too love the pretty boy. But I'm also hoping Taylor H stays in another few weeks (at least). He's SO enjoyable ... and this week he proved that he doesn't have to take on the persona of Joe Cocker in order to perform well. NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT ... I love Cocker... but we already HAVE a Joe Cocker. Know what I mean?

I've not watched at all this year. I usually call my family at that time these days it seems. And they all probably want to be watching Idol instead but oh well, they are stuck with me.

I missed the guys singing! I did see the girls last Tuesday and I liked the petite black girl w/the long hair (don't recall her name) she sang close to last. I think she has the best shot at it so far. The Pickler girl has a Dolly Parton personality and I think she's a sweetheart! Her voice is not matured yet however. I was surprised that Becky O'Donahue was a goner so soon. She had potential.
