Childhood Photos

The top photo is of me at age 2, in my zinc washtub "swimming pool" - and I assure you I do have panties on - even if you can't see them. Hoss, I promised you a bathing beauty photo.......how's this one?

The second photo is my friend Doris and me at age 8, playing "dress up" and posing like models. I am on the right. My mom had a great trunk full of old clothing, hats, shoes and accessories for me and my playmates to fantasize with. It brought us hours and hours of fun. Doris and I attended the same school for the first three years; we both moved away from the neighborhood after that, and I seldom saw her again. Many years later, she learned my whereabouts; she was coming to my town for a geneaology convention, called and we had lunch together. I had not seen her in about 40 years, and it was great to play catch up and find out about her family. We stay in touch now via email. Old friends are the best; as the Girl Scout camp song says:

"Make new friends, but keep the old, One is silver and the other's gold".

I enjoyed those photos, and yes, I can SEE that you are indeed clad in your undies.

Don't all little girls love to play dress-up? Y'all look so sophisticated. You are so brave to post pics of yourself as a child. I haven't got the nerve yet.

I do have one of my brother as a little kid that I found just this week...they forgot and left him at church asleep on the pew. His hair do is priceless.

Hi, from Michele's. How neat you were able to catch up with an old friend... that's so great. I'm not in contact with any of my elementary school time friends...

I just referenced that same Girl Scout ditty in conversation yesterday. Scout's honor! Isn't it amazing what stays with you? I really loved the humor few posts down.

The photos are great fun to see. Thanks for sharing! Also thanks for reminding me to shoot an email out to Marilyn, a grade-school friend who found me via the Internet about three years ago. We try hard to keep up with one another but life gets so busy.
Fun post!

You know that I *love* old photos... and so true about old friends. My childhood best friend is my hairdresser. We've now known each other for 45 years. Scary.

Here via michele today!

You look quite tiny in that zinc tub. And how nice to have a friendship that spans over 40 years. A precursor to your days modeling hats...

Hello from Michele's! How wonderful that you and your friend were able to hook up again after so much time. Those pictures are adorable, and I'm sure your friend loved seeing herself all dressed up fancy! They make great memories.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Blogger, I found your blog while googling for something similar to this topic - this post. I like to look at artistic photos of people, especially at their smiling faces. If you have some free time go to http://photo-personals-search.com for top pictures and rate pictures of singles from your neighborhood.
