Coit Tower: the view from up there is amazing.
Under the Golden Gate; surfers brave huge rocks and sharks to surf these surprisingly large waves.
Downtown San Francisco with the Transamerica Building just right of center. Photo shot from the hill near Coit Tower.
The"painted ladies"; shown in nearly every TV show ever shot in San Francisco. The color is not so hot in this photo; they are a little brighter than they appear here.
Fisherman's Wharf. The seals lie on the piers to sunbathe, and amuse each other and the crowds by knocking each other off the piers and trying to find space to climb back on.

I've always wanted to go to San Fran. Thanks for sharing such great pictures!
Michele sent me!
In the background photo with the seals, did you ever notice the little lighthouse? It is actually on a floating island with a wonderful restaurant, Forbes Island.(they have a website if you are interested) Coit Tower was built to honor the fireman and is in the shape of a hose nozzle.
I have a few friends in SF, I've been dying to go visit. Love the pics.
Ahhh, I love San Fran. Great photos
(saw a comment of yours on michele's blog)
Hope, thanks for the added info. I didn't know about Coit Tower. The day we went, it was closed so we didn't get inside or find out about it.
I love San Francisco and because I have two children living in the Bay Area do get the opportunity to visit often. Thanks for sharing the photos.
Yeah, at the restaurant you can get a fish dinner and watch the seals eat fish. You can have yours raw, too, if you want.
These are just lovely. Thanks to you, SF has moved rapidly up my list of must-visit places.
Popped in from Michele's this morning. Thanks for saying hi on my blog. It's great to see you again.
Well, e-see you, anyway!
Hi, there! Followed you home from Michele's. ; )
Waaagghh! I miss SF. Wonderful place to visit but not so great as a home... well, that is, if you are one of those people who values the pesky details of living like affordable food and shelter.
Thanks for sharing your photos!
That gives me a good first flavour of SF. Ta very much.
Hi there! Michele sent me but I would have made it on my own anyway; I love it here.
Say, if I haven't said it yet, thanks for commenting on my blog and letting me know when you got married. You were married the year before I was born. Congratulations!
Oh, and good job on the designer question at Michele's. Once I have my full on surgery, I want to get the prettiest sundress ever made.
Oh, brilliant :) And I've been MISSING the city, too.
(went to school there, and spent about 14 years (on and off) in San Jose, as well.
Oh, nice shots. I agree, the Painted Ladies are brighter in person.
The seals are my favorites. In SF they're about the equivalent of giant wharf rats but I just love them.
