Weird = Kenju ?

John, at http://cherishauthor.blogspot.com/ has tagged me for the weirdness meme that is making the rounds recently. The directions are:

List five weird things about yourself. Then tag five others and tell them they’ve been tagged by a comment on their blog. I am not going to tag anyone, but if you're so inclined, please feel free to steal the meme!
Ways I might be considered weird:

1. I can eat the same foods repeatedly for years and years; for example, I ate at least one bowl of Life cereal everyday for 12-13 years.

2. When I finally got tired of the Life cereal, Eggo Waffles took over, and I ate them for about 5-6 years, every morning. Granted, I sometimes put blueberries or sliced strawberries on them, so maybe that isn't sooooo weird.

3. When I graduated from high school, I owned 27 pairs of shoes. Some people think that is weird; I think it is normal (at least it was for a spoiled princess-only child).

4. I am a little bit compulsive about some things; for example the hangers in my closets all have to face the same way all the time, whether they have clothing on them or not. If something is moved out of place in my home, even by a milimeter, I will know it! I have cleaning ladies once in a while and I always know where they have dusted because nothing is ever placed exactly where it had been.

5. I often make three pots of coffee (8 cups each) per day. It is decaf now, though there was a time when I drank as many as 15-20 cups per day of regular coffee. Back then I could stay up until 2 am with no consequence except being unable to wake up until 10am (This was quite a problem when my kids were in school!). Due to my constant use of coffee pots, and the fact that our water here is acidic, pots don't last long at my house. I wrote earlier in the year about how many pots I have bought (or had replaced) since 2004 and the total stands at 11. At least they usually go bad while they are still under warranty.....LOL. Is that weird?

John, this reads more like "five things about me" rather than five weird things. Maybe I am not so weird after all - or maybe I should ask my children what to write. I know I could have easily listed 5 weird things about my mom!

  1. You're braver than I am. I'd be terrified to ask my kids to name five weird things about me. EEK! What might they say??

    Cute post!

  2. One can only imagine what five things Nyssa would come up with. Thank goodness she wasn't asked when she was four. The same 4 year old who told my neighbor I was going to be "88" on my birthday would probably tell them that her mom is wierd because she does "austopsees". (That's what she called them.)

  3. The Life cereal I can relate to. I eat it almost every morning.

All that coffee has me shaking just thinking of it!

But I've got weird habits too.

  4. I'm glad to hear that at least you've gone to de-caf for all that coffee.

  5. I don't think these things are weird...but then, maybe that's because I am weird! (lol)
I love the hangers...THAT'S a really really interesting one and the things out of place...
I was tagged to do this one but it was when I was doing my letters and I just didn't have the time...Still feel I don't...Oh Well!

  6. Kenju,

Nope, you're not so weird. But thanks for playing along.
Of course, I wasn't so weird either until I asked my daughter to help, as you saw. She quickly offered twelve weird things about me, and was willing to go on!

As wordwhiz above says, NOT a good idea!

  7. You are not so weird, Kenju. I have been having the same cereal for years now! the hangers in your closet reminded me of my sister, who is not weird, only a bit eccentric...

  8. Eating Life cereal every day for more than 12 years means you are a dedicated eater. I'm sure the makers of Life cereal would love to meet you!
I don't like the taste of coffee, so I don't drink it. I have never known anyone who drinks as much coffee as you.

  10. Hi Judy!
I have been having the same cereal (All Bran) for years now!
And about hangers all have to face the same way, too! LOL!

But I have many others weirdness ...

  11. My hangers also have to face the same way and we have these marvelous plastic hangers here in South Africa in all different colours - mine all have to be white.

  12. See, I'm not like that at all, I go through phases with my food that last for, at most, 6 months and then I'll never have them again for years! I ate a whole lot of junk food when I first started at university since my mother wasn't here to nag--now I avoid potato chips and cup soup at all costs.

  13. I'm like you in that I get in a rut about food. My husband is exactly the opposite, which causes me woe.

But, that's a lotta coffee girlie!

  14. You are definitely the Coffee Pot Queen of the world!

  15. I eat the same breakfast everyday...eggs...cooked the same way on the same sprouted wheat bagel. Why change what works?

From the title, I thought you were going to tell us how you picked the name Kenju. Is your husband's name Ken?

  16. My hangers have to go over the rod, not under, and the clothes all have to be facing forward.

  17. I think it's weird that you remember how many shoes you had over 40 years ago, Judy. Hell, I can't even remember my phone number most days!

  18. About the hangers, mine have to be hanging the same way and all in the same color. I don't even think that's weird, that's the only way they should hang.

Do you watch Monk? He's on ch. 25, Friday nights at 10.00pm. He's obsesive complusive, won't even step on the cracks in a sidewalk!

    Love your blog.
A belated Happy Birthday to you!!

  19. I'm sure it says something about me that this is one of the first memes I'm anxious to post and pass along.

And thanks for visiting... um. Last night, maybe? I think so; I forgot to look at the comment time! It was a Michele sent me Thing, that much is certain.
