Christmas Past ~ Decor

The top two and bottom left photos were taken last year in the house we have been decorating for the last 2 days. I will post photos of this year's work, as soon as I get them. In this home, everything gets done the same or nearly the same for 3-4 years, and then it all gets changed. The homeowner purchases most of the decor items, and we assemble it and decide where to put it. This is only a small part of what we do for this one; it is on 3 levels and nearly the whole house gets decorated.

The bottom right photo is a small artificial tree I did several years ago for a friend. She doesn't have a mantel, so she utilizes the bar between the dining area and living room to display stockings.

How lovely! I have to admit that our decorating is not as theme-driven. It tends to be a mishmash of old and new, traditions combined with fun new stuff.

Oh say, I answered your two questions. You made me bear a small part of my heart, Judy... sigh

  4. Wish I had a house now. Wish I had my decorations out of storage. Wish you were here to make it look sooooooo pretty. You do great work.

About the steaming of veggies. I got a little electric steamer several years ago and it is fabulous. Have you ever tried just cutting up small red potatoes in 1 inch blocks and steaming them....let me tell you about a sweet taste, with just a little sale, a spray of butter and a little ground fresh rosemary....wonderful!

  5. Hi Kenju--Guess what!? Michele sent me!!

I love the image of the little Christmas tree. It reminds me of the tiny East Village apartment I used to live in. Of course, there was no room for a big tree, so I used to buy a tiny pine tree looking plant and decorate it with ONE strand of lights!! It was so cute. I kinda miss my old apartment, even though I couldn't wait to leave there when I left! Go figure.
