A Tactical Error (or three)

Making a tactical error this morning could have resulted in a long time delay, but for the actions of a state trooper. I dog-sat last night in Cary. On my way home this morning, I turned onto Route 40 East, intending to go to Creedmoor Road, which leads nearly straight to home. But on Rte. 40, I was distracted and missed the exit for Creedmoor. Driving further, to Blue Ridge Road (which also leads nearly straight to home), I took that exit without remembering that this is the week for our NC State Fair, located only about 1/4 mile from that exit.

Immediately I saw a line of traffic that had to be miles long - and luckily I was turning in the opposite direction they were headed. And yet, grid-lock was going to make it impossible for me to turn left without intervention. Just at that very moment, a trooper walked into the intersection and began to direct traffic, and I was allowed to turn almost immediately. What luck!!

My younger daughter's home is almost brand new; they moved in earlier this year. I have stayed here before, but I am not familiar with all the nooks and crannies yet, nor am I up on all the quirks. All houses have them, especially in the first year. I flushed the master toilet and soon realized it was continuing to run, so I jiggled the handle. That didn't work, so I simply turned off the water valve to stop the flow. This morning, I got it working properly. But why the handle decided to malfunction just as I arrived is anyone's guess. My horoscope said I might have "water problems" associated with Friday's full moon eclipse - but I didn't expect that kind. We are lucky it wasn't worse. My first-born daughter, however, was not so lucky with water problems this week. An upstairs toilet at her house malfunctioned after she had already left for work. The water overflowed for about two hours and now the kitchen ceiling has to be repaired. Yikes.

Let's hope the water problems are over!

Now we just have to get through the "mercury retrograde" period that begins Monday. It's always something.

Thanks for reminding me about the retrograde. I have that water issue some times when the flapper, won't close completely.

When I think of water problems I tend to think of bodily functions, so I hope those parts are all working properly anyway!

The Mercury Retrograde "Shadow Time" had already begun on October 1st, which means that "problems" could have started beginning on that date!!! (They certainly did for me---wrong numbers and lots of mis-communication) and Then, there is the Post 'Shadow Time', too, which will be from November 11th through the 26th.....So, things could still be "wonky" during the post Shadow Time, as well.....Just saying, don't be surprised....(lol) You know the old saying---The Best Thing You Can do During A Mercury Retrograde Is Stay In Bed With The Covers Over Your Head....LOL!

Its so easy to get distracted when driving; I avoid our local dump like the plague yet found myself turning into it the other day instead of the next turn left.
