The Truly Blessed

I am indeed; truly blessed to have lived in what surely must be one of the best neighborhoods in the USA; blessed and also lucky!

Having written before about my wonderful neighbors, I am sure to repeat things I have said previously, but bear with me. Last night, fifteen of my former neighbors threw a party for me, a 'goodbye' pot-luck dinner  (which we always do so very well) and the best part was that I didn't have to cook or bring anything but myself! The food was, as usual, scrumptious!

My friend Jeanne opened her beautiful home, which was set for dinner in two rooms. Gorgeous flowers graced the tables, thanks to my friend Pam.

I was fortunate to bring home two of the arrangements, which you see here. One of them fell apart on the way home, and I hastily pushed them back into the vase  (with apologies to Pam!)

It was a wonderful evening. I told them that if I were moving out of state or out of the area, I would be much sadder than I am at leaving this nearly perfect neighborhood. As it is, we are only 6.9 miles from there and since I will still be participating in the WOW functions and book club, I'm not really going away. They are stuck with me forever. WOW means Women of W_______, and the saying goes.....Once a WOW, always a WOW. I certainly am glad that is true.

Thanks to all of you who planned and participated in my party. It was a special moment in my life and I will never forget the kindness and love shown to me in my 31 years there.

Note: There is no significance to the red paragraphs. I have NO idea how that got there and I was not able to get rid of it.

What a lovely gathering in your honor. That's the best part of a real neighborhood. Glad to know you're close enough to stay a part of this WOW community.

thank you so much for sharing your energy, charm and keen observations (often with good punchline chuckle too). you always made sure the occasional visitor would feel as welcome as the 'regulars'! the lyrics and letter helped us appreciate the depth of connections to this special place :)

Good neighbors make all the difference in the world. And it sounds as though you and Mr. K have been very cherished neighbors to lots of folk!

What a marvelous group of neighbors and how great that WOW is a lifetime organization so you don't lose them.
It will be hard for your new neighbors to measure up.

How wonderful to have such a friendly neighbourhood! I'm thinking American women are far more likely to do such lovely things than us Britishers!

Those flowers are really beautiful, and as usual, the food sounds yummy!

Somehow you linked the red portion to you corsage photograph and it's all a caption.

Meanwhile, I have always been so envious of your close and loving neighbors. You are truly blessed and they are too, knowing you.

The flowers were aglow just as I imagine you must have been ... when accepting them and being the recipient of such a great farewell.
Those are memories for a livetime.
